It should be done at least every four weeks or earlier if the product is used extensively or in areas with hard water. Do not use abrasive materials as they damage the device. Using desalination bags: please follow the manufacturer's instructions. Use citric acid (available at pharmacies): Mix 5 grams of citric acid with 100 ml of water and pour it on the sterilizer. Put it in a duty cycle. Leave it off for 30 minutes. Remove the mixture, rinse well and dry. Be careful to avoid contact with the eyes as the acid can cause irritation, and keep it out of the reach of children. Using vinegar: Pour a mixture of 40 ml of vinegar (any kind) and 40 ml of water into the appliance. Let it work for a cycle, and leave it off for 30 minutes. Tips for parents

How can I cope with fatigue?

Fatigue can be a major problem in the first trimester, so you may feel incredibly tired and drowsy. Derived from pregnancy hormones, fatigue is often worse for overweight women, women who are expecting more than one baby, or who already have other children to care for. However, feeling very tired can also be a sign of anemia or some other underlying condition - so see your doctor if you are worried. The best solution is to break your fears or problems into a series of smaller steps, although these are often easier said than done. Make sure you eat well. Small, frequent meals will keep your blood sugar levels high. Try to include in your diet many foods rich in iron such as lean red meat and green leafy vegetables. Many complex carbohydrates such as wholemeal bread, brown rice and pasta will give you energy. A good multivitamin and mineral supplement for pregnancy can help you. Cut out caffeine, sweetened beverages, and highly processed foods, as they may cause sleep problems.

What is the best time to get pregnant?

As simple as it sounds, conception can take several months. Generally, a healthy, fertile couple has a very good chance of conceiving in one year, for example around thirty will conceive within a month, around sixty will conceive within six months and around 85 will conceive within a year. The rest will take longer and some of these couples may need help to get pregnant.
In addition to age, certain daily habits can reduce your chances of conceiving. For example, a woman's chances of conceiving in the first month after stopping contraceptives are reduced by about a third if she smokes. Excessive alcohol consumption, an unhealthy diet and an underweight or obese body can also reduce your chances of conceiving. For these reasons many couples choose to adopt a healthier lifestyle in the months before they plan to conceive.
It is important to remember that if you are planning to become pregnant you should take folic acid supplements as it reduces the incidence of myelomeningocele in newborns. The most critical time to take folic acid is from the period before conception (and during the first three months of pregnancy). You should definitely take folic acid as soon as you stop taking contraceptives until the twelfth week of pregnancy. Folic acid protects the baby from the risk of myelomeningocele and other neural tube defects acquired at birth. You will need a daily supplement of four hundred (400) micrograms of folic acid. If you are taking a multivitamin supplement that already contains 400 micrograms of folic acid, you will not need a separate supplement. If you are not sure, check the package or consult your pharmacist. You should take a higher dose (5mg) of folic acid if you have already had a child with Nervous System Syndrome, are being treated for epilepsy, have diabetes or are suffering from some other condition - please consult your doctor first as you may need a prescription for dose of 5 mg. You may also want to take a daily 10 mcg vitamin D supplement. Some women have low levels of this vitamin due to the color of their skin or the location where they live in Britain. If you are taking a prenatal multivitamin, Vitamin D may not be included, so check the label. You should take a higher dose (5mg) of folic acid if you have already had a child with neural tube syndrome, are being treated for epilepsy, have diabetes or are suffering from some other condition - please consult your doctor first as you may need a prescription. dose of 5 mg. You may also want to take a daily 10 mcg vitamin D supplement. Some women have low levels of this vitamin due to the color of their skin or the location where they live in Britain. If you are taking a prenatal multivitamin, Vitamin D may not be included, so check the label. you have diabetes or some other condition - please consult your doctor first as you may need a prescription for the 5 mg dose. You may also want to take a daily 10 mcg vitamin D supplement. Some women have low levels of this vitamin due to the color of their skin or the location where they live in Britain. If you are taking a prenatal multivitamin, Vitamin D may not be included, so check the label.
There is some talk in the news about caffeine and causing infertility (although there is no tangible evidence). Nevertheless, some research has suggested a link between high doses of caffeine and conception problems. Keep in mind that the government advises pregnant women to limit caffeine intake. If you have six in caffeine, it might be helpful to gradually get rid of it now. The caffeine content of espresso, as well as espresso-based coffee drinks such as cappuccino and latte, may depend on the manufacturer. One study found that caffeine levels can range from 50 milligrams per espresso in one commercial chain to up to 300 milligrams per espresso in another. Some cold medicines also contain caffeine.
A woman's most fertile period begins just before the egg is released from the ovary and lasts up to about 48 hours after ovulation. As sperm can survive for about 5 days, a woman is more likely to conceive if intercourse takes place five days before ovulation and two days after ovulation. Therefore, in the typical 28-day menstrual cycle, a woman should aim for intercourse from the ninth to the sixteenth day to maximize her chances of conceiving. The fertile period of a woman with a cycle of 35 days will begin 16 days after the first day of her last menstrual period (ie 5 days before ovulation on the twenty-first day).
The conception process involves the fertilization of an egg by the sperm and the implantation of the fertilized egg in the wall of the uterus. Fertilization usually takes place as the egg travels along the fallopian tube - the tube that connects the ovaries (where eggs are produced) to the uterus. To calculate the most fertile time you need to know the duration of your cycle. A menstrual cycle is calculated from the first day of your menstrual period to the first day of the next. A typical menstrual cycle lasts 28 days, although only about 12% of women have this duration. A cycle begins on the first day of bleeding and can vary in length from sixteen to more than fifty days. Ovulation (egg release) is thought to occur around the fourteenth day of a 28-day cycle. In larger or smaller cycles, ovulation is thought to occur fourteen days before the new menstrual period begins. Therefore, in a cycle of 35 days, ovulation will occur around the twenty-first day, while in a cycle of twenty-four days it will occur around the tenth day.
Tips for both parents about conception
The idea that a lower incidence of conception is needed is a myth. In fact, a steady pace of dating at least three to four times a week has been found to maximize the chance of conception. While some couples believe that they should "preserve" the man's sperm until the exact moment of ovulation, this is not really the case.
Relaxing and enjoying your love life may be the best way to boost your chances.
Quit smoking as it reduces your fertility.
Try to reduce alcohol and caffeine.
Men should wear loose boxers instead of tight underwear, as ideal sperm production occurs at a temperature slightly lower than body temperature.
Try to lose a few pounds if you are overweight.
Exercise regularly and get a healthy diet.

Some women know when they are ovulating as they feel a slight pain in the back of their abdomen. The pain is known as Mittelschmertz and usually lasts no more than a few hours. Around this time there is a slight increase in body temperature and there is a thickening of the vaginal mucus which often appears as a thick, clear, elastic secretion (like egg white). This information is used by people who use natural methods of contraception to warn them about when to avoid intercourse.
Ovulation tests are now available to help women identify exactly when they are most fertile. The tests are simple to perform and quite accurate as the instructions are followed. If, after stopping using contraceptives, you have not conceived after a year of normal intercourse, you should visit your gynecologist who can give you some simple advice or refer you for tests. If you are 35 years old or older, seek help sooner. For help conceiving, we suggest you try the gurgle.com Ovulation Computer to help you determine exactly when you are most fertile each month. This way you can increase your chances of getting pregnant.
Remember that even if you have some problems conceiving, the most important thing is to seek help and complacency from your gynecologist.

First signs of pregnancy. Am I pregnant?

The first sign of pregnancy for most women is that their period does not come. However, this is not the only sign. Not all women experience the same signs. But if you are trying to make a baby and experience one of the following symptoms, it is a good idea to buy a pregnancy test and see if your suspicions are correct. If the test is positive, it is necessary to confirm it with a visit to your gynecologist.

The first indication of pregnancy probability is the lack of period. However, many women do not have a regular cycle, so the absence of a period does not necessarily mean pregnancy. In addition even those who have a regular circle for various reasons may have some delay or anomaly in their period. Stress, fatigue and discontinuation of the contraceptive pill may disrupt the menstrual cycle. Trying to have a baby can cause anxiety and fatigue and so even 2 weeks of delay is not a guarantee of pregnancy.

Morning sickness: After the absence of the period, the most common sign of pregnancy is morning sickness. Not all women experience morning sickness during pregnancy, but almost half to two-thirds this is a classic symptom. Those who experience it usually begin to feel nauseous within 2 weeks to 2 months of conception. Fortunately, morning sickness rarely lasts throughout pregnancy, and usually stops when pregnancy reaches three or four months. Although it is called morning sickness, symptoms of nausea can occur at any time of the day. While some women simply feel nauseous others do and vomit. There are many theories about what really causes nausea. Some doctors believe that morning sickness is dictated by changes in the body during pregnancy, which affect hormone levels, blood pressure and the digestive system. Whatever the cause, rest assured that although you do not feel good your baby's development is not affected in the slightest.

Irritated, swollen breasts: When you are pregnant, your chest will become larger and it might feel irritated. You may also notice that the color of your nipples becomes darker. These changes mean that your body prepares for breastfeeding when the baby is born. You may see these changes from the first month of your pregnancy.

Tiredness: During the first months of pregnancy you may feel very tired and sleepy. You feel tired because the baby is growing rapidly within you and your body has to adapt to it.

Weight gain: As the baby grows up, so do you. Obviously, you will notice that your belly swells as the embryo develops in the uterus, but weight gain is not limited here. Save fat to prepare your body for breastfeeding days

Back pain: Back pain is a common pregnancy symptom and can happen at any time. Pain is the result of redistribution of weight in your body. The weight of the growing baby in the uterus pushes your back.

Cravings: Many women have a keen desire for strange food when they are pregnant. You may feel craving for something you do not like, like pickles. Alternatively, you may want to eat strange food combinations, for example, banana and bacon in sandwiches. In your second pregnancy you can see that your cravings are different from the first. Many women also find that they have a slight metallic taste in their mouth during the first months of pregnancy.

Frequent urination: In the first 2 or 3 months of pregnancy you will find that you need to go to the bathroom much more often than usual. This is because your baby is pushing your bladder, which does not grow during pregnancy, creating the urge to urinate. So it's a good idea to plan when you are out or on a trip to know the toilets in advance and you can easily visit them.

Blurred nose and sinus: Some women find that they have a "numb" nose during the first months of pregnancy, many times before even the period stops. This is because the hormonal changes that occur in your body due to pregnancy affect the production of mucus in your nose and sinuses. Although the above signs do not concern all women, they are good indicators of the changes taking place in your body. So if you find any of the above, get a pregnancy test and expect to see its perhaps "positive" result!

Can I take medication while I am pregnant?

Taking medication during pregnancy

You have a headache and do not know what to do. Can you take painkillers, or will you harm your baby? It is well known that many drugs can have harmful effects on an unborn baby. This is why it is very important to consult your pharmacist or doctor before taking medication when you are pregnant or trying to have a baby.

Before pregnancy

Some women inadvertently take too much medication before learning they are pregnant. The manufacturer often states on the packaging that the drug should not be taken during pregnancy, but often this is so that it is legally safe. Your gynecologist will be able to advise you if there is a risk to the developing baby. Paracetamol is considered safe for small use against pain and fever during pregnancy. However, avoid anti-inflammatory drugs. If in doubt, consult your pharmacist or doctor first. Sometimes a woman gets pregnant while taking the contraceptive pill, but most brands are not considered harmful to the baby.

Any woman taking medication for long-term conditions such as asthma or diabetes should consult her doctor as soon as possible, ideally before conceiving. In many cases the treatment may be continued, so it is important not to stop your treatment before consulting your doctor. Some women with conditions such as epilepsy and high blood pressure know that some medicines are safer than others during pregnancy, so the medication may change. Women with current problems are closely monitored during pregnancy.

Before becoming pregnant, it is now advisable to start taking folic acid, a vitamin supplement. It is known that taking 400 micrograms of folic acid daily for at least the first 12 weeks of pregnancy reduces the risk of the baby developing a condition known as spina bifida. Iron supplements are not usually recommended unless you are diagnosed with anemia after a blood test. This is because it often has the side effect of constipation. It is best to have a healthy diet that includes green vegetables and some red meat to replenish your iron stores.

The first three months

The first three months of pregnancy (first trimester) is the period when your baby's organs are formed. The third to eleventh week is the stage at which harmful drugs are more likely to cause harm. If you need medication for any problems during pregnancy, your gynecologist will choose a medication that has been used safely for years. New drugs are not necessarily dangerous, but there may be limited information available on their use during pregnancy.

Between three and nine months

During the second and third trimesters (months 3 to 9), medications can affect the baby's development or damage his tissues. Can I sometimes take medication at the end of pregnancy or during childbirth? to affect the newborn 0 it would be good to consult your gynecologist at this stage of pregnancy before taking any medication such as strong painkillers.

Treatments for smaller diseases

Pregnant women often suffer from minor illnesses such as constipation and indigestion. To prevent constipation, a diet rich in fiber can help a lot, with plenty of whole grain breads, cereals containing bran, and increased fluid intake. It is important to try not to strain, as this can cause hemorrhoids, which are another common problem during pregnancy. For indigestion and heartburn it helps to climb higher in bed with a few extra pillows or to raise the head of the bed by placing a pillow under the mattress.

For coughs and colds, try inhaling menthol and eucalyptus and drink extra fluids and drinks with honey and lemon.

If you need antibiotics to treat a bacterial infection during pregnancy, such as cystitis, several antibiotics are known to be safe.

The best advice is to avoid all medications whenever possible during pregnancy. It is important to remember that this also applies to herbal medicines or supplements from nutritional supplement stores. In this case, "natural" does not necessarily mean "healthy". These substances are not controlled and there is not much information about their safety during pregnancy.

Doctors will only treat you if the benefits to the mother's health overshadow any potential risk to the baby. Remember to tell your doctor about any possibility of pregnancy before giving you any medication.

Do I have postpartum depression?

As much as you love your baby, becoming a mom can be difficult.
Sleepless nights, babysitting twenty-four hours a day and a big drop in hormones can make you tired, leaving you sad and discouraged.
Feeling unwell can take many forms, from short-term postpartum grief to a mild but more persistent feeling of gloom, or clinical postpartum depression. If you are worried it is advisable to visit your doctor and ask the opinion of a specialist.

How can I prevent the nappy rash?

The secret to getting rid of the nappy rash is to keep your baby  as dry as possible. This means you have to change your diaper when it's wet or dirty. This can happen more often than you think - up to one hour in newborn babies. Change the diaper before putting the baby to sleep after feeding, or sleeping. It is also important to keep your baby as clean as possible. If the diaper is dirty, use it to remove most dirt, then wash the baby with warm water and soft soap using cotton. Alternatively, use gently wipes. Whenever possible, allow your baby to lie down in a warm, diaper-free environment for a while, before putting on a new one.

Is my child pulling teeth?

While some babies pull out teeth without any problems others may suffer a lot. The gums may be red and swollen and in some cases may even redden your little one's cheeks while you will see it protruding. Be careful if your child looks like he / she is a little sick or has a fever, do not automatically assume that it is from his teeth because he may just be sick. The teeth usually appear in a row to see if the two lower front teeth have come out which are followed by the corresponding upper ones. Breastfeeding can be a problem when you see teeth appear but do not worry because your baby's tongue prevents them from scratching while the baby is breastfeeding.

How do I manage my child's outbursts?

It is easy to say that you can handle a child's outbursts. Their actual management is more difficult. The child is confused and angry and may seduce and irritate you even though you will try to stay calm. You may want to do everything you can to stop the outbreak. You may feel ashamed and uncomfortable especially if you are in a public place as you will feel that the image your child is giving at that moment reflects what parent you are. Try not to think about any of these and stay cool.

You can not reason logically with a child who breaks out. It makes absolutely no sense to try it even before the outbreak is over.
Do your best not to be emotionally affected and stay calm. If you get angry you will just make things worse. Some parents find it helpful to be completely neutral simply to fully control their own behavior.
It may be a good idea to tell your child that you are leaving the room or that you are leaving. Then go somewhere where the child will not be able to see you but you will be able to watch the child. If there is no other world present, it is more likely that the child will stop and calm down.

Try to become thick-skinned. Do what you did and ignore other people's eyes. Try to hug your little one and calm him down, sometimes they themselves are scared by the intensity of their emotions and just want someone to calm them down.
Calm the child by acknowledging how he feels: "I see that you are very angry." If you have to take the child with the outburst away from the attention of others. Do not hit the child for punishment. It does not help, it increases the use of violence and always remember that children learn by copying adults so this is a lesson you do not want to teach your children.

Do not give in to the outbreak. If the child sees that he is winning something by breaking out, he will use this means to pass his own. If you feel that you are not able to deal with an outburst calmly, make sure the child is safe and call someone of your own (your spouse, your mother) to help you. Someone who has not suffered from the whining and fatigue that you have can calm the situation more quickly and simply with a cooler eye.

What are the symptoms of colic?

The first symptom is crying, which you can not stop it if you try. It often happens at the same time everyday - usually in the evening - when you may want to sit and rest from a tiring day. Some babies seem to hurt, gathering their legs up or stretching their backs. Colic begin at 3 weeks of age and usually disappear at 3 to 4 months.

What can I do about sore nipples that hurt?

The first thing you need to do is make sure you place the baby correctly on your breast. Irritated and sore nipples are largely due to incorrect placement of the baby on the breast. If this is solved then your nipples will recover quickly. As much as possible it is best to avoid wearing a bra and to allow adequate ventilation of the nipples. Do not use non-neutral scented soaps to wash your breasts. Your nipples produce an antibacterial and lubricating substance that protects your nipples during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Soaps can affect this area and also affect the way the baby attaches to your breast.

What is the best treatment for morning sickness?

It is very important to keep your sugar steady. Choose to eat frequent, small, healthy meals that include protein and carbohydrates. Avoid eating large meals only 3 times a day. In some cases, morning sickness can be caused by poor nutrition. Include in your diet foods containing B6, dairy, green vegetables, whole grains, cereals, sardines and eggs. Try to rest as much as possible and avoid spicy foods. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.

How can I teach my little one to go to the toilet?

There is a long period of time in which children leave the diaper and it really does not matter if your child has not fully achieved it before 3 years. The decision of when to teach your child to use the toilet is yours and your child's. However the transition is never easy so you need to be really patient and supportive of the child.

Most daycare centers have a prerequisite that the child will have taken out the diaper in order to be accepted in their lessons.

It is known that infants are unable to hold their bowel and bladder before 18 to 24 months and sometimes even longer.

"It is not neurologically possible for a child to make the connection between a full bladder and using the toilet before the age of two," say the doctors. The nervous system of children under 2 years of age is immature for this act. With this in mind it is pointless to sit an infant on a potty and wait for him to respond.

The last views suggest that the child will tell us the same when he is ready to start this process. Some signs are:
He shows interest in going to the toilet and also seems to understand what we are doing there.
He removes the diaper himself.
His diaper is dry when he wakes up.
He asks to use the potty and when he sits there he uses it.

When your child sees that he is at this stage and the weather is hot you can try to leave him without a diaper in the nap (remember of course to use a waterproof mattress cover)
or for intervals in the house.
Accidents are very likely to happen in the first few days, do not make it a big deal, just lead your little one to the potty so that he makes the connection in his mind.
Most children can control their gut and bladder so if you see them getting upset or grimacing this is a sign of what will happen and it is a good idea to invite them there to use the potty.

Above all, stay calm even if accidents happen while the child has already started using the potty. When he succeeds, reward him with hugs and kisses. Little by little he will succeed. If you start working without a diaper with your little one but multiple accidents happen this is an indication that you probably started early. Take a break for a few weeks and then try again. It may seem like a lifetime, but remember that before you know it, your little one will be three.

Bladder control is a bit more difficult and you have to remember that sometimes even four-year-olds who are long without a diaper can have an accident. Always have a change with you when you go out. Toddlers who have stopped using the diaper for several months are more likely to relapse especially if they have had a traumatic experience or if they are expecting a younger sibling to arrive home or when they start kindergarten. It is important there not to go back to the diaper just to continue to always have a change of clothes to deal with accidents. Also do not forget to reward them every time they succeed.

The last and most difficult stage is to manage to stay dry overnight. It is not uncommon for children by the age of 5 not to have mastered this absolute stage and are still being educated.
Take your time and everything will be done. Suggest to your little one to fall asleep without the diaper and see his reaction. Many parents try to get their children to go to the bathroom just before bed so that there are no accidents. For a start it is a good tactic but as time goes on they should leave them so that if they feel the need to get up and go to the toilet. When you see your little one waking up in the morning and running to the toilet before he comes to you, it means that you have succeeded.

It is all a matter of time, patience and effort. If your child has these from you he will definitely succeed.

How long do I have to stay in the hospital after giving birth?

The usual hospital stay with a normal delivery is 2-3 days depending on the clinic and in the case of a caesarean section the time increases to 4-5 days. In cases where you or your baby need more monitoring, this time varies but in most cases this is the rule.

Is there anything I can do to prevent stretch marks?

Stretch marks appear to be genetically predisposed and no cream or product can prevent them from appearing or disappearing.
Nevertheless, proper hydration of the skin during pregnancy is vital for the intensity of the problem. Choose the most natural materials to use and always consult your doctor.

What should I eat during pregnancy

During the first days of pregnancy, many women feel that they are not eating as well as they did before conception. It is vital that you include a lot of protein in your diet as it is important for your baby's development. Choose healthy snacks such as oatmeal cookies, nuts and fruit. You do not need to increase your calorie intake before the second and third trimester where you need to get more than 200-300 calories per day. (if you are pregnant with twins it doubles to 600 calories). Try to choose organic foods and reduce salt while cutting out caffeine and alcohol. It is advisable to consult your doctor about what you should eat and what not.

How can I cope with sleep deprivation?

Before you give birth you may have heard of "dreamy" babies who sleep like angels and wake up only to eat and go back to sleep. Some babies are like that but most are not. As a result, after giving birth you can get little sleep and be on your feet for many hours trying to calm your baby.

Do not panic. Everything is completely normal and when your baby reaches 3 months old he will sleep during the night although he will wake up to eat. Adapting to life outside the womb takes time.

But how does a mom survive these first exhausting weeks? The two most important points to remember.

When the baby is asleep, go to sleep too. Most babies sleep better in the morning and become more active in the afternoon so schedule any visits from relatives and friends at that time.
Help your child learn the difference between night and day. Babies are not born with an internal clock. When your baby wakes up in the morning to eat, take some time and play with him, show him colorful toys and talk to him. When he wakes up at night, try to be silent. Only if the diaper is dirty change it otherwise be quiet and limit the movements to a minimum.

The safest place for your baby to sleep is in his crib in your room for the first 6 months. Do not share your bed with your baby if you are a smoker, have drunk alcohol or are taking any medication. Research shows that it is best to avoid putting your baby to bed. This does not mean that you can not have it in your bed to hug or feed it.

If your baby is anxious, especially in the afternoon or early evening this means he may have colic.
Babies who have colic usually pull their legs up and make faces of intense dissatisfaction as well as cry for a long time.
It is a common belief that colic is caused by your baby's immature digestive system that still can not cope with the new way of taking food by mouth instead of the umbilical cord.
Colic usually occurs in the afternoon and at night when you want to rest. Make sure your baby is leaking after feeding to reduce the chances of colic. After 3 months your baby will be fine.
Talk to your pediatrician for more advice and information.
The first months can be very tiring so do what you can to rest and enjoy your baby now that you are new to it since before you know it they will have already passed.

What is the safest way for my baby to sleep?

The safest way for your baby to sleep is on his back. Babies who sleep this way are safer and healthier. It is not safe for babies to sleep face down or on their side. Babies can relax more easily when they are on their backs if you put them to bed from day one. If your baby is less than 6 months old and you see him turn upside down in his sleep, turn him on his back again. You do not need to wake up all night to control how your baby sleeps. After 6 months babies can find their place again on their own. Regardless of age, it is good when you put your baby to sleep to place him on his back.
