Pregnancy Week 36

And yet, your baby is starting to take the birthing position, which is not only exciting but also comforting for your tummy. If you are on maternity leave, you finally have time to prepare for the arrival of your little one and rest.

Spend creative time with your partner and baby. Prepare the children's room, find the right Playlist with lullabies and talk to your baby every day. Learn about motherhood and the needs of a newborn.

For many new parents, this period is suitable for making the necessary purchases for the baby. Here's what shouldn't be missing from your list:

  • Baby car seat , for the first ride home
  • Basket, to have it next to you when he sleeps
  • Onesies, bodysuits and diapers - your baby loves clothes that hug him!

The baby may be changing position and preparing to meet you. In practice, this means it will move lower with the head facing down. You will understand if you stand next to the mirror and notice the belly that looks like it has "fallen". Walking may have become more difficult as more pressure is placed on the pelvis. However, repositioning the baby allows you to breathe better and relieves indigestion (great news!). 'Time for action! Do systematic daily exercise with yoga for pregnant women and give birth to your baby more painlessly and faster! Yoga is for all mothers, an easy exercise to start or continue in pregnancy and will help you reduce all possible discomforts and also strengthen your baby!At the time of birth this is the key to your most positive experience!

The baby is 47 cm long and weighs 2.7 kg. His immune and circulatory systems are ready for the outside world and he just needs to put on some more weight. Due to lack of space, its activity is limited but this is completely normal. However, consult your doctor or midwife in any case.

Τhings to do in Pregnancy Week 36

This week you will see your doctor or midwife again. In this standard examination you will re-check your own health and the development of your baby and you will be given the last laboratory check with blood, urine and vaginal culture tests.

At this stage of pregnancy, your doctor or midwife recommends a cardiotocogram, a 30-minute test that uses ultrasound to listen and record your baby's heartbeat, while it is compared to your possible contractions. This is how we know if your baby is still happy in your tummy or not. This examination is not necessary but is often recommended by your doctor or midwife.

For many moms, week 36 marks the start of maternity leave. Use the time before labor as a "break" and rest as much as you can. It's the perfect time to buy essentials for baby and you (eg bras and nursing tops). Since the first time with the baby you will not go out much, make sure to spend time with friends for walks and coffee.
